As a precision measuring instrument，maintenance plays an important role in the life of the coordinate measuring machine.If the maintenance are done in time，the service life of the machine can be extended and the accuracy of the machine can be improved.In order to enable customers to better grasp and use the coordinate measuring machine，the daily maintenance procedures are listed here.one.

 

Preparations before starting

1.The coordinate measuring machines have strict requirements on the environment，and the temperature and humidity should be strictly controlled according to the contract requirements.

2.The air bearing is adopted on the coordinate measuring machines，which is a structure that will never wear out in theory，but if the air source is not clean，there will be oil.Water or impurities will cause the air bearing blocked，and in severe cases，it will cause the air bearing and the air bearing to be scratched，with serious consequences.Therefore，the air source of the machine tool should be checked every day，and the water and oil should be drained.Regularly clean the filter and oil-water separator.Attention should also be paid to the front-stage air source of the air source of the machine tool，(air compressor or air storage tank for centralized air supply)should also be checked regularly.

3.The machining precision of the guide rail of the three-coordinate measuring machine is very high，and the gap with the air bearing is very small.If there is dust or other impurities on the guide rail，it is easy to cause scratches on the air bearing and the guide rail.Therefore，the guide rails of the machine should be cleaned before each start-up.The metal guide rails should be wiped with aviation gasoline(120 or 180 gasoline)，and the granite guide rails should be wiped with absolute ethanol.

4.Remember not to give any kind of grease to any guide rail during the maintenance process;

5.Regularly apply a small amount of anti-rust oil to the polished rod，screw rod and rack.

6.When the coordinate measuring machine has not been used for a long time，preparations should be made before starting up:control the temperature and humidity in the room(more than 24 hours)，and the electric control cabinet should be opened regularly in the humid environment in the south to make the circuit board It is also fully dried to avoid damage to the electronic control system due to sudden power-on after being damp.Then check whether the air source and power supply are normal.

7.Check the power supply before starting the machine.If possible，configure a regulated power supply.Check the grounding regularly.The grounding resistance is less than 4 ohms.

 

Precautions during equipment operation

1.The parts to be tested should be cleaned and deburred before being placed on the workbench for testing，so as to prevent the residual coolant and processing residues on the surface of the parts after processing from affecting the measurement accuracy of the measuring machine and the service life of the measuring tip.

2.The measured part should be kept at a constant temperature in the room before measurement，if the temperature difference is too large，it will affect the measurement accuracy.

3.Large and heavy parts should be placed on the workbench with care to avoid severe collisions and damage to the workbench or parts.If necessary，a piece of thick rubber can be placed on the workbench to prevent collisions.

4.After small and light parts are placed on the workbench，they should be tightened before measurement，otherwise the measurement accuracy will be affected.

5.During the working process，the test head must be kept away from the parts when it is rotating(especially with an extension rod)to avoid collisions.

6.In case of abnormal noise or sudden emergency during work，do not disassemble and repair by yourself.

 

After the operation

1.Please move the Z axis to the bottom，but avoid the tip from hitting the table.

2.Clean work surfaces after work is complete.

3.Check the guide rail，and check the filter in time if there is a watermark.If there is any scratch or bruise，please contact the company in time to avoid greater losses.

4.Turn off the main air source of the machine after the work is finished.In short，no matter which brand of CMM it is，CMM maintenance is required，otherwise not only the accuracy of the CMM will not be guaranteed，but the life of the CMM will also be shortened.
